About

THE EVENT

The International Space Apps Challenge -a NASA Open Innovation Initiative- is an annual two-day hackathon where teams of technologists, engineers, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students across the globe collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges.

THE CHALLENGE

The event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing relevant open-source solutions to advance space exploration missions and improve life on Earth. It is open to anyone who has a passion for developing real solutions to global challenges. NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of additional government collaborators and local organizations.

SPACE APPS SOUSSE IS BACK!

This year we will be organizing an NASA Space Event Hub with collaboration with many groups (IEEE) in Sousse-Tunisia, by organizing a parallel Conferences and workshops to the Hackathon, so Non-participants in the Challenge will be able to access to a free Conferences related to Aerospace and NASA fields of interest as we will be inviting Young Professionals and specialists .

NASA Open Innovation Initiative is a model for innovation. The ability to contribute towards solving meaningful challenges is the most important motivator for most participants in mass collaboration.

Challenges in this category will ask you to combine NASA Earth Science data with sociological and economic information to generate new understanding and perspectives on human-environment interactions.

PLANETARY BLUES

Challenges in this category will ask you to analyze and visualize NASA’s data on the hydrosphere (surface and groundwater, etc.) and the cryosphere (sea ice and ice sheets, etc.).

WARNING! DANGER AHEAD!

Challenges in this category will ask you to analyze NASA data to assist in monitoring natural disasters and phenomena associated with health risks, and to assess their impacts on life and property.
